Waterproof Coating Sprayer: How to Use an Airless Sprayer Most Effectively? – Multi-Functional Waterproof Spraying Machine

Release Date:

Aug 28,2020

Airless sprayers have been used in large-scale coating projects for many years. However, due to poor communication between manufacturers and contractors, certain fundamental practices have sometimes been overlooked during painting operations. A thorough understanding of these principles is essential for all project stakeholders. Jiangsu Chengye Tools Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer of polyurethane waterproofing airless sprayers, airless sprayers, and multi‑functional waterproofing sprayers; please feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries. When operating the equipment, please pay attention to the following four key points: 1) Nozzle wear on airless sprayers 2) Excessive working pressure on airless sprayers 3) Selecting the appropriate airless spray nozzle 4) Achieving the desired coating thickness

Airless sprayers have been used in large-scale coating projects for many years.   Please note the following four points regarding operational techniques:
1) Airless sprayer Nozzle wear
2) Airless sprayer Excessive work pressure
3) Choose the appropriate one Airless sprayer Nozzle
4) Thickness: The diversity of coating films
Many factors, including nozzle selection, working pressure, and variations in coating thickness, can affect the quality of airless spraying.
Airless sprayer Nozzle wear:
Using a new nozzle saves more paint in the short term than using a worn-out one. Most technical specifications require the coating to achieve a minimum dry film thickness ( DFT: Minimum Dry Film Thickness (minimum dry film thickness). Using worn spray nozzles increases the average DFT of the paint film after application and can also affect quality.
If the sprayed image is circular, it indicates that the nozzle is completely worn out. It can be simply understood as a circular pattern formed by spraying paint through a round hole. The pattern that should form after normal spraying is an elongated rectangle, created by the coating being forced through two opposing circular apertures in the metal plate. The greater the pressure, the flatter the fan-shaped spray pattern, resulting in a wider spray width.
In fact, there are two small metal pieces. The “wing” is used to “squeeze” the fan. Airless sprayer The metal parts in the nozzle are worn down by the paint. The more wear there is, the rounder the sprayed pattern becomes. As the circular orifice in the nozzle becomes more rounded, the coating material will rapidly accumulate on the surface and become difficult to control. At this point, the coating has been deemed nonconforming. However, very early on Before the “wing” wears down, the nozzle prevents the deposited coating from flowing evenly across the entire width of the fan. There is more coating concentrated at the center of the fan. If the fan’s shape is uneven, it indicates an increase in DFT variability during operation. In such cases, achieving the minimum DFT will require using a greater amount of coating.
